The Trail Blazers rode Brandon Roy and an unforgiving defense to a 110-94 road win over the Kings on Friday night. It was the Trail Blazers third straight win and and gave the team back-to-back road victories over teams in the Western Conference, where the Trail Blazers are strengthening their hold on the No. 8 playoff spot. The victory was Nate McMillan's 400th victory as a head coach.

Roy had 28 points and four assists as he steered the Trail Blazers to an insurmountable lead. LaMarcus Aldridge finished with 18 points and six rebounds, and Andre Miller had 15 points. Jerryd Bayless and Rudy Fernandez each added 10 points off the bench.

Defensively, the Trail Blazers forced 20 turnovers by the Kings. Portland committed only nine turnovers.

Portland (40-28) returns to the Rose Garden on Sunday to take on the Toronto Raptors at 6 p.m.

Brandon Roy scored 41 points, Andre Miller added 15 points and seven assists and the Portland Trail Blazers overcame a 13-point deficit in the fourth quarter to beat the Golden State Warriors 110-105 on Thursday night.

Rudy Fernandez added 12 points including a pair of pivotal 3-pointers during a late 17-3 run by the Trail Blazers, who snapped a nine-game losing streak at Oracle Arena.

“They play well as a team," said Roy. "It doesn’t matter what their record says, because obviously we weren’t able to win here in a while and tonight we needed to come here and get a win. We did a good job of finally controlling them."

Portland also avoided what would have been a costly defeat as it tries to hold onto the eighth spot in the Western Conference. continue
